Tryon Farm has a variety of new, simple houses with high ceilings, lofts, farm country paneling, practical kitchens and baths, screen porches and private walled yards. They cost more than production/tract houses and less than custom houses. They are built with 2x6 stud walls, heavily insulated, and have high efficiency heating.

The architects working on the project are designing the houses to fit together in small settlements where everyone has protected long views toward wetlands, prairie and farmland.
